Eco-Drive Solar Pump SystemsThe Eco-Drive controls any 3 phase pump and solar panel system, whether it is an above-ground pump or a borehole pump. These Eco-Drive systems are perfect for remote location boreholes that service small villages, farms that have widely distributed pastures, eco-friendly homes which use boreholes for their water supply.
The Eco-Drive system ranges from 0.55kW up to 100kW. We use only high quality 1000V DC rated components in our systems such as Schneider, Delta, and Lovato. We also supply a full range of water pumps from leading manufacturers such as Wilo, Grundfos, CRI, Stairs, Vertix and Speck. We will gladly advise you on the best pump solution for your application.

Solar pump systems – how do they work?Solar pumps are an energy efficient, environmentally friendly way to pump water for a variety of domestic and commercial purposes, including agricultural and residential irrigation, and livestock watering.
There are two main types of solar pumps. Surface pumps sit above ground and move water through pipes. These are handy for moving large quantities of water at a slow pace. Surface pumps are commonly found on farms or large irrigation systems where water needs to be moved from a dam or other body to fields or landscaping. There are also submersible solar water pumps. These units are installed underground and the solar panels are connected above ground. Submersible pumps are used to move water from inside wells/boreholes to the surface.
Solar pumps operate using three main components. Solar array to collect the sun’s rays and convert them into usable electricity. The control panel which regulates the DC voltage for specialised DC pumps (e.g. Grundfos and CRI) or it converts the DC voltage into a variable frequency 3 phase AC system (our Eco-Drive) for use with any 3 phase pump. The Eco-Drive systems can also be fitted with an auxiliary AC input for generator or grid connection in an emergency or during prolonged cloudy days.
